About Our Services
In 2012, after much demand from municipalities purchasing trees from us, we began offering tree services to help cities protect their trees and maintain their Urban Forest. We employ and invest in Certified Arborists (Find an Arborist) to provide our clients with science-driven solutions to their tree care problems. Whether it be planting, consultation, pruning, stump removal, or tree injections, you can count that the work is done consistently to specification and that the project timeline is accurate.
Services We Offer
Professional Consultation
Our ISA Board Certified Master Arborist® is also Tree Risk Assessment Qualified (TRAQ) and can leverage a great breadth and depth of experience to help solve difficult tree situations.
Nursery Stock of the Highest Quality
Our diverse inventory is grown using air-pruning technology, which significantly improves root health and tree performance.
Correct Planting
We use the tree’s anatomy, not the container, as our guide to ensure optimal establishment while minimizing later issues. In some situations, we can also transplant existing trees.
Proper Pruning
At appropriate intervals, we guide trees to their optimal structure, thus minimizing future costs and liabilities. We also rehabilitate and restore neglected trees and specialize in fruit tree pruning.
Integrated Pest Management
Prescription without diagnosis is malpractice, so we accurately identify problem organisms and manage them without harming the environment.
Plant Health Care
We proactively address nutrient deficiencies using the latest technology, including tree-injections.
Tree Inventories
Generally reserved for municipalities, we have ample experience employing the latest technology to accurately inventory several thousand trees for the purpose of better management.
Tree Support
We are competent in providing safe, industry accepted, options other than removal to mitigate structural defects in trees.
Tree Removal
When removal is the best or only option, we are able to do it with genuine compassion and utmost safety.
Stump Grinding
When we remove trees, we can also completely remove their stump for immediate replanting or turf establishment.
Root Collar Excavation
When we excavate the root collar of a tree, we remove dirt and debris to inspect the area for root girdling or for decay.
Meet the Sales & Consulting Arborist: Daniel Allen
As long as he can recall, Utah native Daniel Allen has loved trees. In fact, the first time he remembers the frightening experience of getting the wind knocked out of him was at 4 years old; when he got stung by a bee and fell a short distance while attempting to climb a massive cottonwood in front of his home.
This love of trees/nature was the fundamental motive when he donned an old green Kelty and thru-hiked the entire Appalachian Trail in 2007. And it seems that, somehow, this experience is what solidified his resolve to be a ‘tree nerd’ for life.
From there, it wasn’t long until Daniel found himself in Utah State’s College of Natural resources, pursuing a degree in Forestry. This is where he discovered that people can actually get paid to climb trees! His was the great privilege to learn arboriculture from one of the best, past UCFC president and ISA Board Certified Master Arborist®, Ben Harris.
More recently, Daniel served as Urban Forester for the Utah DNR, where he taught and assisted multiple communities in all things tree. There he also achieved his longstanding goal of obtaining the same ISA credential as his mentor Ben.
In January 2020 Daniel was elected to be a UCFC board member, and shortly afterwards was introduced to SuperTrees. Because SuperTrees gets to the root (pun intended) of a critical issue in tree care, namely poor stock improperly planted, it was a natural fit for Daniel climb aboard, thus expanding and improving his advocacy for trees in Utah.
Meet the Services Manager: Mitch Lenington
Originally from Mississippi, Mitch Lenington developed a love for the outdoors at an early age, inspired by family camping trips and a mother who nurtured his appreciation for nature. Those early experiences laid the foundation for a lifelong connection to wild places. Eager to explore that passion fully, Mitch graduated early from high school and went on to thru-hike the entire Appalachian Trail, followed by the Pacific Crest Trail and the Continental Divide Trail. These journeys not only tested his endurance but solidified his respect for landscapes, ecosystems, and the work required to care for them. Looking to pair real-world experience with formal education, Mitch earned an associate degree in Forestry from Jones Community College. In April of 2020, he relocated to Utah, where he spent two years working as a wildland firefighter before joining SuperTrees in 2021. As he continued learning and gaining experience, Mitch naturally took on a larger role, now serving as Services Manager while supporting the team and day-to-day operations.
Mitch credits much of his growth as an arborist to his mentor and friend, Daniel Allen, a Board Certified Master Arborist. Working alongside Daniel has given him the opportunity to learn from one of the best in the field, gaining both technical expertise and a deeper understanding of what it means to care for trees thoughtfully. Daniel’s guidance, encouragement, and passion for the craft have left a lasting impression on Mitch, shaping the way he approaches his work and leadership at SuperTrees. Outside of work, Mitch married his best friend, Reagan, in 2022. Together, they’re building a life in Utah with their dog, Maple (named for Mitch’s love of trees) and continue to grow their family while spending as much time outdoors as possible, often on the same kinds of camping trips that first sparked Mitch’s love for nature.
