Flame Amur Maple tree
The Flame Amur Maple tree (Acer ginnala ‘Flame’ tree) tree is known for its hardiness and resilience to poor conditions as well as its ornamental value. This small tree has a head start on the fall foliage season with its subtle but elegant red samaras blooming in late summer and accentuating through the bold green leaves, followed by a display of burning scarlet leaves in the fall which would give any ornamental maple a run for its money in aesthetics.
The Flame Amur Maple tree requires little maintenance as it is very drought-tolerant and can thrive in a variety of soil types. This makes it a great tree for urban gardens and landscapes, as it is both small (can be planted under power lines) and can be left alone in full or partial sun. Average growth rate of up to 2’ a year.
